Here in Aomori, until about 50 years ago, we used all the animal meat, skin, and hair,
It was a well-established custom to wear it to ward off the cold.
Maybe that's why.

I feel a strong sense of awe for animals and nature.
[Gofun] is a horse leather brand based in Gonohe Town, Aomori Prefecture.
Gonohe has long been a prosperous horse town,
People and horses have lived together, supporting each other.
As time goes by, fewer people ride horses, but horse meat and sakura nabe (cherry blossom hotpot) remain popular local specialties.
The by-product, horsehide, was difficult to utilize and was discarded.
While most of the leather industry uses imported leather as raw material,
Gobun is trying to make domestic horse leather,
We will work on products that will be handed over to people.
